Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} how often do you do laundry?
We do it once a week at our house, but it is on a rotation so I end up doing it every 3 weeks.

{two} what is your favorite type of cookie?
Scandinavian Almond Bars ...sigh... now I want some.

{three} what would you do with an extra $2000 a month?
Finish the house, so we could sell it and get something more manageable.

{four}what was/is your favorite subject in school?
Science, I loved science!

{five} have you ever ridden in a hot air balloon?
No, that would be a lot of fun though.

{six} what was your highschool mascot?
I was homeschooled.

{seven} if you had the chance to go into space, would you?
I think so, that would be amazing.

{eight} how often do you go dancing?
Not really at all.

{nine} would you rather drive or fly?
Considering that I've never really flown(being life-flighted to the hospital isn't quite the same experience.) I would love the opportunity to, but I also really enjoy road-trips.

{ten} have you ever been caught re-gifting?
Nope, not sure if I've even done it, though I might have.

"How rare are the Christians who speak with a tender heart and have a theological backbone of steel.

Christians whose might in truth is matched by their meekness, whose theological acumen is matched by their manifest contrition. Whose heights of intellect are matched by their depths of humility.Whose relational warmth is matched by their rigor of study, whose bent toward mercy is matched by the vigilance of their biblical discernment.

I dream of durable, never-say-die defenders of true doctrine who are mainly known for the delight they have in God and the joy of in God they bring to the people of God - who enter controversy when necessary, not because they love ideas and arguments, but because they love Christ and the church."

Books...

"A room without books is like a body without a soul."

"You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me."
— C.S. Lewis

"I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library."
— Jane Austen

A Wee Bit

{one} what is one food that, as an adult you love, but as a child said you'd never touch?
I was never a very picky eater, but I guess it might be mushrooms, I love them now, but seem to remember picking them out of everything when I was little.

{two}did you go to college? if yes, what was your major?
I have not been to college, and probably will not be going, except for maybe just doing some classes here and there.

{three} what's the most wild animal you've seen in real life?
 A grizzly bear.

{four} have you ever been to a fortune teller?
No, and will not be doing it any time in the future.

{five} can you juggle?
I have attempted it in the past, but it has not proved to be a successful venture.

{six} hardwood floors of carpet?
Having lived with carpet most of my life, I would say hardwood floors. It is so much easier to take care of.

{seven} is it called "soda" or "pop"?
I call it soda, but am used to either one.

{eight} what was your first car?
I have yet to own one.

{nine} what is the most decadent dessert you've ever eaten?
I am not big on sweets, or really rich things, so I'm not really sure here. A favorite of mine that is a little more rich and "decadent" would be tiramisu.

{ten} how often do you rearrange you furniture?
Not hardly at all, if I could I would do it a lot, but the way the room is, there isn't really any other way it can be than the way it has always been. I am constantly rearranging my shelves and closet though.

Simple Pleasures

"I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

Evermore

Evermore
Evermore
May my life
Ever praise You, Lord
Evermore
Evermore
May my life
Ever praise You, Lord

See the birds
Of the air
May my song
Rise to meet You there
Soaring high
Flying low
Hold me tight
Never letting go

Mountains high
Valley deep
May my praise
All the stronger be
Whether joy
Or deepest pain
May my heart
Ever bless Your name

When you come
To take me home
I'll bow down
At Your feet, my Lord
As I leave
This world behind
Be the theme
Rising from my life.

A Fresh Start

Welcome to my new blog!

I felt I was needing a fresh start on things, hence the completely new blog, and making it be by invitation. I am not certain of where things will be going on here, it will probably be similar to what I had before, but there may be some twists.

My deisre is to honour the Lord in everything I do and say here, and I pray that I may be able to bless those who read or perhaps simply provide a different perspective.

I have been seeking to move on in some things in my life, mainly after having the changes take place in our church situation, as well as the health circumstances I have been going through. With the longing for spring has come a longing for change in my life. So I have been seeking to bring it about in what small ways I can, and this is now one of them.

In the love and grace of our Lord ~ Laurel
